“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:34
A few days ago, I decided to take advantage of the holiday season and academic pause to work on some blog posts ahead of time. But when I clicked on my posts, I realized something incredible: I had written and published 49 blog posts. Meaning that whichever one I wrote next would be my 50th.
This floored me. 50 posts?! I had yet to think about how many posts I had created and had just been posting whenever I had a new idea. And since we have just started a new year (an even number year, which is my favorite for some reason), I wanted to get myself off on the right foot on this blog by reflecting on what has occurred on my blogging journey thus far.

Support From Readers
First, I want to take this time to thank all the people who have been reading and supporting my blogging journey, both on WordPress and my other social media sites (Twitter and Instagram). I have not been the most consistent with my posting, especially because I balance being a full-time college student. The fact that I can count on you all to read my content whenever I post is very comforting and helps me not worry about losing readers when I do not have time to post.
Additionally, it really makes my day whenever you, my readers, and fellow bloggers comment on my posts and keep the conversation going. Sometimes, with blogging, it feels that you are just yelling into a dark cave and hoping that someone hears and responds from the dark void of the Internet.
Also, I would like to thank my family. My mother, for always being willing to read my jumbled ramblings disguised as blog post drafts and telling me they are good (even when I do not believe her). My father for always reading my posts even if he does not quite get everything I am saying in them. Also, another word of thanks goes to my other family members, who tirelessly share and repost my content on their social media channels; it means the world to me.
Goals For The Future
I am not exactly a planner when it comes to anything I do. I operate with the philosophy of “going with God,” meaning that wherever God leads me, I will go, and I try to stay out of my way and not make too many plans. Whenever I try to make my plans, I have ALWAYS found that they are never as good as God’s plan. Instead of fighting God’s plan to keep my own, I have decided to keep my plans as vague as possible since whatever God is cooking up for me is better than anything I could achieve with just my own abilities.
That being said, I plan to keep posting often for the foreseeable future, as there are so many more topics that I have yet to discuss here. Additionally, more than one post is usually needed to discuss a case fully, so I plan on making the second part of many of the posts I have made recently, especially those in a list format.
My Favorite Posts So Far
Since this is a reflective post, I wanted to include a link to a favorite post I have written for each year I have had this blog and explain why that specific post is so special to me. Of course, everything I post on this site is special because I get to share my experiences with you all, but a few stand out as the most memorable, in my eyes, at least. If you have not read the posts I list below, feel free to click on the title, which will take you directly to the post!
2019:
“Good Habits, or Symptoms of Anxiety?”
To be fair, I only published two posts during 2019, as I started this blog early in December of 2019, but this is the first “list” post I made, and I fell in love with making these quick bullet-pointed posts with rapid-fire advice. This post is also dear to my heart because I feel that symptoms of anxiety go unnoticed when they seem like good habits, as people do not generally feel the need to “fix” stuff that other people praise them for.
2020:
“Don’t Be Afraid to Advocate For Yourself!”
This is my favorite post of 2020 because I was able to successfully incorporate situations I encountered in my daily life as a student with my ongoing struggles as a person with mental health issues. It was the first situation I went through where immediately afterward, I thought, “Hey, that could make a good blog post!”. I saw that my struggle could be used to help others struggling with issues similar to mine.
2021:
“How To Bring Yourself Back From a Panic Attack”
It was hard to choose just one post from this year, as this was the year I was somehow, by the grace of God, able to publish a post nearly every two weeks. However, my favorite post was the step-by-step guide on how to recover from a panic attack. This one was my favorite to write because it was something that I would benefit greatly from a few years ago when I had panic attacks quite often but did not recognize them as such.
2022:
“What It Means To Lift Our Struggles to the Lord”
This post was a standout favorite because it came from a genuine place of desperation and hope, and I still use the story from this post to demonstrate the idea of leaning on God at your lowest point. Additionally, this is the point when I started living by my current philosophy: keeping my plans for the future vague so that I can easily adapt to whatever God leads me to. God can do so much with us when we do not resist His plan for us; this post served as a recent testimony.
2023:
7 Reasons to Watch “The Chosen” Series
This was my favorite post of last year because I was able to express my love for one of the best TV shows I have ever watched: The Chosen. This was my first post dedicated solely to one TV show, so I enjoyed diving deeper into why I find the show so compelling and why it is an inspiring depiction of Jesus’ ministry on Earth.
Conclusion (Kind of)
I do not have a good idea about how to conclude this post, as I feel that it is a continuation of something rather than an end. I guess I will conclude by thanking you all once again for reading and supporting me on this one-of-a-kind writing journey. I look forward to bringing you more posts for a long time, constantly seeking to better my mental health and relationship with the Lord.
Please like, comment, and subscribe if you connected with my post and if you would like to see more of my crazy, exciting journey through life with Christ while experiencing mental illness. Every interaction I receive here means the world to me. Thank you, and God bless you!
Until next time!
beautiful job, Belen!
Thank you so much!
